Finding Ivy: Our 1970 Checker Cab Immersed in Art

In May, I visited an art dealer and saw this 1970 Checker Marathon Cab lonesomely sitting in his garage.

I made a joke to the seller and told him that my husband would love the car. We laughed, he threw me a purchase number, we laughed some more. A few months later, my husband and I found ourselves calling him to take it for a test drive.

Up until then, we played with the idea of launching Petrol Vintage, but didn’t feel confident in starting it just yet.

We met with the seller once more while Ivy was in the gallery, fully immersed in other pieces of thoughtfully curated art. When the new exhibit opened last week, we got to see her in full glory and there was no lack of “oo”’s and “ahhh”’s.

Now, this piece of history is part of the Petrol Vintage garage. It’s currently staged in the art gallery until the end of the month and will be available for rent starting August 20th. But be prepared to turn heads like you’ve never seen before.
